The Herb Seller

Yesterday we had a bit of an adventure. The previous evening after we returned from our evening meal the owner of the hotel invited us into the lounge along with other guests for a drink, my chosen poison for Turkish trips is always Raki though I say I was tempted by some of his home made liqueurs - limoncello and a cherry liqueur. We met up with most of the guests who are currently staying at the hotel including a couple of Argentinian women (sisters) who were very outgoing and full of fun.

Before we were heading to the beach yesterday Margaret wanted to exchange some money at the bank but unfortunately had forgotten her passport. The two Argentinians we're in the bank at the same time and insisted on changing the money for Margaret. Furthermore they kindly invited us to join them in their hire car to go to a far flung beach on tip of the peninsula. We accepted gratefully. Their navigational skills were a bit hit and miss but we got there with the help of maps, goggle earth and a couple of stops to ask people the way.

The beach was lovely, a beautiful azure coloured sea with lovely white crested waves and lovely soft sand. It looked as though there might be a distinct undertow but it shelved gradually and you could walk some way out to sea before you got out of your depth though there was always the chance that you would get knocked over by the waves. I thought it would be icy cold but it was nice and warm. Swimming was impossible but it was a really fun sea to explore. We had a great time there and surprisingly did not even get charged for our sunbeds. Also the facilities were good so we finished off our day with a nice drink. I did take several photos of the beach but I did not think any if them did it justice but I might include one in my blip folio if I can get it to work. HERE

I've chosen instead one of a herb seller in the village who was there when we went out for our evening meal, the smell was lovely as you passed by her stall
