Synchronicity

It was Relay Day at the British Champs today and, after my run, I walked down to the finish run-in to get some blips before we headed home at the end of a great few days in beautiful Northumberland.

I like the connections, the synchronicity, with this blip. Tony had punched at the penultimate control and was heading up the run in when one of the juniors, Matt, also arrived and the two of them fell into sync as they raced towards the finish. It also struck me that there is a considerable age gap between the two but they were competing on a level field. Some years ago Matt attended the summer camp in Speyside and was coached by Tony who has maintained an interest in his progress since. The photographer is lining up his camera because Matt and his team mates had won their class and, out of shot, they were joining him for a victory run to the finish, so in another sense Tony has been a part of that success. A nice moment I think.
