Communal Housing For Storks
The problem is that this pylon is inside the water treatment plant and there's strictly no admittance to the public. So the closest we could get was about 200 meters away. And at that distance, without a tripod, it was always going to be difficult to get a razor sharp picture.
But I think you can see past all that and will just enjoy the fact that storks have added something to the pylon. There is another nest below these but I just couldn't fit them all in.
In total, I reckon there are at least 11 storks in this. Maybe 12 but I can't be certain.
It was a lovely day down at Schierstein. It was warm (about 28°C) and the idiots were only in cars or on motorbikes today.
My nominations for Arschloch/Arschlöcher of the Day are:-
1. the woman in the cabrio who drove through a junction with both hands on her mobile phone. It must have been a very important text. Or she was an inconsiderate idiot.
2. the couple who parked their car on the road with the "No Parking" sign and had set up a barbecue next to it. Their 3 kids were in the car; doors shut and windows up. When we came back over an hour later they were still there, sitting at the barbecue and the kids were still in the car (one window open).
3. the 2 motorcyclists who drove up to and then decided to ignore a red light.
Perhaps drivers are allowed to do these things when they have an IQ lower than the temperature. There must be an explanation for this that's too complicated for me to understand.
I hope they all end up like the manager of the German national football team. He's just had his license taken away for 6 months after repeatedly being caught speeding and using his phone while driving.
When he gets his license back, if he goes over the points limit again - his license is taken away for good.
I reckon if Germany wins the World Cup, he'll never get another point. And if they don't, he'll be using the bus within 18 months.
