Madonna and Child

As it was dry and quite sunny at lunchtime today, I took a walk through Cavendish Square to reach the other end of Oxford Street from where I was wandering yesterday.

I 've often noticed the striking Madonna and Child on the sheer wall over the archway into Dean's Mews off Cavendish Square, but never knew anything about it. It was created by the American-born British sculptor Jacob Epstein in 1950, and here's what I found out about the piece.
