Fête at Mas Roland

Anyone who knows this part of the world knows that the tiny hamlet of Montesquieu is best known for its goat farm (Mas Roland) and its' very happy and beautiful troupe of goats who are made even more happy and beautiful by the blues that are played to them in the milking shed. Good idea.

Anyway, each year there's a fantastic fête when all the local producers turn up with their exquisite honey, ginger syrup, pork sausages, crème de marron, salt, alpaca socks etc etc.. So what you do is...you choose a producteur, pay for a plate of something, go to the buvette and buy a glass of water/rosé/beer and find a seat at one of these long tables that snake through the village streets for a good 50 metres or more. Later you can meet the goats, go on a walk with the goats, and listen to jazz ....

We came home laden down with goodies having spent a blissful couple of hours in goatland. Lucky us.
