nonsenses & truths

We have a lab with a couple of microscopes in, which are used with specific wavelengths of light to study fluorescence. As well as 'on' and 'off' the overhead lights also have this setting, which removes the uv end from the standard institutional strip lights (so it doesn't complicate matters), and the result is an orangey glow. A bit like using a red light in a darkroom, or submarine (but possibly a bit less sexy than the latter).

Anyway I've been trying to pursuance this bugger to work for several days, it seems to have had an unexplained software cock-up which I have been unable to rectify. Still working on it, in between a million other things.
