Mostly Six Five Oh

By nhc

This is the white lavender plant that we bought last year at the Oregon Lavender Festival. It survived the snow (to my surprise) and is looking splendid. The bees love it. I wish I knew more about different species of bees, this one was highly territorial and would stop what it was doing to fight off other bees visiting the flowers, really fascinating to watch. I did a search online on this behavior and it seems it's likely to be a wool carder bee, the description in second paragraph here was just what witnessed.
