Peak of Perfection
"We'll be back for an afternoon siesta" ..... little did long-suffering Hilary know how slowly I cover the ground.
A wonderful day in the mountains. Wall to wall sunshine with just enough high cloud to soften the light and enough glorious flowers for a month of blips.
The peak of perfection was at Pas de Cheveille, below Grand Mouveran, where we found many Androsace helvetica growing on the limestone boulders. An archetypal alpine plant, tight cushions of tiny, densely hairy leaves, smothered in delicate flowers. It's a plant I have only seen a few times on my many trips to the Alps and never in such good condition.
Thanks to Hilary for taking me to the right place .... and for her blip today which shows the other side of this shot which may amuse you ... Click Here!
