Weather permitting.

The plan is that M & K, who keep their launch in Havelock, are going to pick us up on the way, and then we are heading for the Queen Charlotte Sound. I have marked the approximate course that we will be taking. Not sure if M will go on the outside of Forsyth Island, or through Allen Strait. The weather forecast is for light winds but rain. Then rain for 10 days, so we are heading off, and if the rain is too bad, we will just come home again. We are supposed to be back home on Wednesday afternoon, so it isn't a long time that we will be away.
It is the first time that I have even been around Cape Jackson, a notorious piece of water. It is the reef here that the Mikhail Lermontov struck the rocks and sank in Port Gore in February 1986. M was one of the first people to assist the stricken vessel. At the time he was fishing not far from the area, when the Mayday went out, he is also the only person who got photos of the ship as she was sinking.
So fingers crossed for some fine weather and not too much rain and a few fish.
Not sure if I will be able to connect to the internet out there, or not, but will back blip when I get home. Camera batteries all charged, and warm clothes packed. (and raincoat)
Got people looking after the house for us, so that is all good, animals will all get feed on demand.
