Ox Tail

We started making the oxtail stew last night with what we thought was beef stock but turned out to be the remains of a beef in beer from a while back. We resolved (yet again) that nothing goes in the freezer unless it has been labelled. We'll see how long that lasts. Decided this morning that more veg was required for the stew (that we have now decided is going to be a pie) so a trip to L8 was called for. Veg added and more stewing this afternoon. Now we're in Formby making pie. Somewhere along the line we acquired some chilli infused hot smoked salmon, and that's now been turned into paté as a starter.

Beer o'clock, I think.
