All Saints Stock

Today I took the Pentecost Service at All Saints, Stock, a lovely church. Lots of families from local schools were in attendance to celebrate Pentecost & Education Sunday.

Evidence of the existence of a church in Stock dates from 1232 and it is reasonable to suppose that a church, consisting of a nave and a chancel, was erected here in the early Norman period. Stock is a small village on the outskirts of Billericay, 6 miles south of Chelmsford.

It was a great to spend time with brothers & sisters in a worship tradition quite different from what we normally experience. I'm looking forward to a return with with their children's leaders and with the school later in the year.
