Life though my lens

Rest and Be Thankful

After packing up our tent on the banks of loch Tay we headed to the Rest and Be Thankful on the A83 between Loch Long and Inveraray. It is a beautiful spot looking over two major glacial valleys. We hiked slightly up into the hills to get a better viewpoint over Loch Restil where this photo was taken. While we were there we saw a rain front coming in over the mountains from the west, which was caught in photo. We then headed on to Loch Awe where we explored Kilchurn Castle - A ruin on a spit of land running into Loch Awe. It was a great ancient ruin which provided great views over Loch Awe and the Highlands to the North.

As the weather worsened we jumped into the car and headed for Glencoe and our next camping spot.
