Drilling & Filling

Once again Mr A has put in some hard graft in the garden (this is meant to be his holiday!).

Today's task was the post for the new fence panel at the side of the house; this is to replace the rotten gate that was there. It was a kind of 'busmans holiday' for me with all the drilling and filling!

He borrowed his Dad's SDS drill to break up the concrete, then dug the hole to the required depth for the post.

My contribution was holding the post in place until he'd concreted the hole; I then painted the post and the wood for the opposite side of the panel.

We had a little interlude courtesy of a visit from his Mum & Laura, who came to inspect the gazebo and garden....it was declared a winner! Once they had left it was back to work.

He's also rodded the drains; they run clear now! He really is a good 'un.

In return for all his hard work, I cooked us a lovely meal which we ate al fresco under the new gazebo.

This is the life :-)
