Staying in and Chilling Out

“Rain, rain go away, come again another day.” That is what our cats seemed to be saying today. It was wet, wet, wet outdoors and the cats did not like having to paddle through puddles to get to their favourite parts of the garden for their toilet routine.
The dogs did not care. They enjoyed their very wet walk and even ventured into the river which was rising fast.
We are having some extremely wet weather with local surface flooding. The ford I cross every day has failed yet again and the river is rapidly getting to flood levels.
I feel very sorry for folk who live further down the South Island. There is bad flooding in and around Rangiora in North Canterbury and State Highway One is closed in some areas.
Here Mollie the Maine Coon is draped over the back of the sofa. And yes, that tail is real! She had been staring out of the window and hoping that the rain would cease… A small hope, Molly!
