Stuff

This is the hospital equivalent of an "elephants graveyard". Old walking frames, commodes, wheelchairs & hoists. I was at the hospital today teaching/facilitating (I absolutely detest that word, FACILITATING) helping a new member of staff the finer points of exercise tolerance testing. The equipment is very tired & for the last 4 to 5 years the main lead from the patient on the treadmill to the computer that prints out the ECG is secured by elastoplast which is replaced by the Dr after each pt. The belt that holds the pack to the pt while they walk is frayed & split but apparently is NOT a priority I was told today. My plan is to find the perfect belt from one of our local charity shops.
So there you have it, public hospitals the world over have very similar problems & issues.
