HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDRA!

The cause of all the noise and dust is now over, and next door's drive is finally finished. The workmen have been very fortunate with the weather this week and they have done a good job, although one of them was not in his father's best books when he accidentally hit the top of the carport with the mini digger, but that can be put right, so it wasn't the end of the world. At the time, though, with the new carport having only been completed a week or so previously, it did seem like it!

It's Sandra's birthday today and what better way to celebrate than to do some sweeping and shovelling of stones! Rik and Sandra are wonderful neighbours and look after our house whilst we are away (and being retired, we are away quite a lot, as you know), so I guess we should have gone out to help, but we are going to a Thanksgiving Service for Pete, another friend who recently died, and will be leaving soon, so didn't want to get too dirty!

However, we will be working with them very soon, as the fence between our properties, which came down in the February storm, has to be replaced - I may not be able to do the heavy work, but I can make the tea!

I hope that Sandra and Rik manage to finish soon so that she can enjoy her birthday - the sun is shining and it looks as if it will be a lovely day. I took this photograph from our bedroom window - and they were all happy to pose!

For the whole law can be summed up in this one command:
“Love your neighbour as yourself."
Galatians 5:14
