Water power!

Day 5

Warmest day so far! In fact the weather was beautiful :-)

We went to Bolton Abbey today ....... we walked along beside the River Wharfe to The Strid ....... my blip shows the water thundering through the narrow gap with great force! The noise is almost deafening & the height of the spray is amazing! We then carried on further ........ crossed the river & walked back on the path the other side.

We saw a lot of things on our walk ....... as well as the more common 'garden' birds we saw Dipper, Heron, Blackcap, Tree Creepers, Grey Wagtail, Common Sandpiper, another male Redstart, both Spotted & Pied Flycatchers, Curlew, Gooseander & even a Roe Deer that came down to drink on the opposite bank! A really fabulous day :-)

We also saw a strange beetle ........ I have no idea what it is ....... I'm hoping that one of you lovely lot will tell me!!!

All in all yet another fabulous day :-))
