Home from home

This is home away from home for the next few days. This Peugeot HDi engined, Bailey Compact motor caravan is a bijou palace on wheels. It's where we'll sleep (not much, and not at all during the race) while at the Le Mans 24-hours, the most famous motor race in the world.

Every year nearly 100,000 Brits make the pilgrimage to Le Mans for the race, and it's one long party atmosphere in Maison Blanche, the British contingent's favourite campsite. It's inside the circuit, about 10 minutes' walk from the central pits and paddock area. The weather forecast throughout the weekend is fantastic. It's a full-on, raucous, twice round-the-clock race. Ear defenders at the ready!
