Bleeding Hearts

Dear Diary,

I had to look long and hard to find some bleeding hearts in my garden. By the time I returned home from my trip they had mostly gone by but I was able to find one plant, tucked away in the corner of the garden, that was still blooming. I love bleeding hearts, such a delicate, old fashioned flower. Their heart shape, their color and the way they appear in clusters along the stems...enchanting.

I've been focusing this first week home at looking at the details of the world around my house. I have been rewarded at every turn.
