Prettier than most

...weeds.

A fine doorway in a fine building in Edinburgh's once-elegant Hanover St.

The neglect of our built heritage is astonishing -mortar-splitting buddleia, blocked rhones and slipped tiles everywhere in both Old and New Towns: just look up as you walk about.

But for the time being, the neglect here has some aesthetic value.

(I would have blipped the Love Music Community Choir's energising opening set at this evening's Ross Bandstand concert, but it was the darkest, dampest half-hour of the whole day, so no photo possible).
