Wreck of the SS Ayrfield

The SS Ayrfield was a collier (coal-transporter) built in 1911 and registered in Sydney the following year. It was later used to transport supplies to US troops during WWII. In 1972 it was brought to Homebush Bay to be scuttled and broken up. And here it lies, full now with mangroves:

We visited Homebush Bay today, and among a few other shots - and the wreck I chose for the day's post - I stitched a pano.
