Wanderings & Witterings

Mackintosh Window

Two church services in the morning (it was the second week of the minister's summer holidays, so the B team was in place) followed by a manic Messy Church in the afternoon; just time for a quick changeover, but not dinner, before heading into Glasgow to attend a concert in the evening. Whoever said Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest?

Two of my friends sing in a choir and they were having their summer concert in Queen's Cross Church, otherwise known as the Mackintosh Church, as this impressive building was the only church designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The concert was superb and the venue had extra poignancy given the recent events at Glasgow School of Art. The church is no longer used for worship but is used for other events and tours are also offered.
