Sunset at Cova D'en Xoroi

Mum, Alan and I caught the local bus into Mahon today and what an experience that was! We were the first at the bus stop, but within no time at all there was a very long queue and when the bus arrived, it was already almost full! Luckily we managed to get a seat and said that there's no way everyone would on the bus, but they did! They literally kept on filling it, until people were standing and there was no room left. We then set off for a 20 minute bus ride squashed like sardines - if we hadn't have managed to get seats we wouldn't have gone.

Anyway, we arrived in Mahon safely and had a lovely day wandering around the old town where I bought some new Tommy Hilfiger sandles in the sale, stopped for a coffee in the square, and then walked down to the port to look at the boats. We had lunch facing the port and I chose a black risotto with lobster which sounded very nice, but it was a little disappointing as although it was garnished with lobster there was hardly any meat and just a few prawns mixed into the rice.

When it came to coming home, the queue for the bus was like this morning, so we decided we'd get a taxi home as we really didn't fancy that journey again, particularly as it would have meant us standing up. It was a good choice, the taxi only cost 17 euros and we were home within about 15 minutes.

Tonight mum stayed at home while the rest of us, including Scarlett, went to the Cova D'en Xoroi for a drink - this is the bar/night club I mentioned the other day, that's built into the caves. We went here when Rach was 18 months old, so it was nice to go with Scarlett at a similar age. It's an amazing place with stunning views, and although we had to pay to go in, we got a drink included in the price. Scarlett was as good as gold, and stayed up much later than her usual bedtime, but there were lots of other children there too, and a Spanish guy playing a guitar, so she was happily dancing and entertaining the locals.

I've chosen to blip the sunset watched from inside the caves, but you can see my other shots here if you're interested.

Thanks again for your continued comments - I'm sorry I'm not able to comment back, but I'm not spending much time on the pc other than to load my pictures. We're having a great time, and I'll catch up with you all when we're back home.
