StoneHenge Discovery Centre

We dropped by the new National Heritage centre, not to see Stonhenge, but just to see what they had done and whether a visit was worthwhile. £15 pre-booking is what it costs to take the full tour, but we parked up for free used the facilities, shopped in the shop and had a great coffee in the cafe.

The carpark is surrounded by a lovely wildflower meadow with yellowhammers singing from the yarrow tops. As it was we probably could have purchased a ticket for the bus ride to the stones. I was quite tempted just to take the 'long walk', but I suspect they would lock the car park up after closing and then we'd have been stuck.
