It’s Bean a Hard Day:

But I managed to Compost a blip in the end . . .

After our visit to the garden centre yesterday the runner beans had to be planted today!

This was no mean task – had to dig out last years runner bean trench, then refill it with compost from the black bin. Then plant and put the strings up.

Not too bad so far, but then the compost regime had to be cycled – this means finding somewhere for the well matured compost that was in the black bin, then transfer (turn over to get the air in) the compost in the middle (green) bin into the black bin, then do the same with the compost from the right (green) bin (the current bin in use) into the middle (green) bin. This now leaves the right hand green bin empty and ready for the next twelve months kitchen (and garden) waste.

Then clear up and put the tools away (after finding somewhere to dump, sorry store the earth dug out from the runner bean trench back at the start of this) . . .

I’m not getting any younger, but I can still remember the time after finishing a mornings work like that I would feel gratified – exuberant that it was a job well done - these days I just feel totally k********.

This afternoon did not happen . . .
