Midsummer Eve walk

Midsummer's Eve - the most Swedish of Swedish holidays. In our multicultural way we celebrate with friends from Sweden and Ireland and with English, and later Swedish, food.
First came the scones, cream, strawberries and an assortment of homemade jams. You can see them in other blips from Janhar and Lensmemory.
The scones were followed by a walk in the countryside around were we live. At this time of year it is so green and the grass is full of flowers. Often, like today, the weather is fairly chilly and unsettled but the air is both fresh and refreshing. The colours are bright though the sun is absent. The rain held off through our walk and I caught this image of our group.
Later it was Swedish food - salmon, pickled herring, schnapps, home-baked bread, new potatoes, meatballs, salad, all delicious and much of it provided by our generous visitors.
We took a break and did some drumming with Lensmemory as our teacher before returning to the feast.
Around 12:30 we started to flag a little and a last round of photos at 12:45, the darkest moment (not at all dark!) of the shortest night of the year and then it was time for bed.
