Hot Air

After a morning at home catching up on a few domestics, we set off for our last talks at Stoke-on-Trent's literary festival weekend.

The first was from Charlotte Higgins, who is a journalist, and has written a book on Roman Britain. Again she was born in Stoke and brought up in the area.

The last talk of the event was a conversation with Melvin Bragg and John Shapcott who has written a critical study of Melvyn Bragg’s importance as a regional novelist.

Other talks today included Emma Bridgewater sharing her inspiration about her business and children's author Jeff Kinney.

The whole weekend has been very enjoyable and we really hope it happens again next year.

The mug in the shot is one of Emma Bridgewater's designs to commemorate the weekend, which has been held in the factory where her pottery is made.
