The Upper West Side

Spent a few hours strolling about through my old neighborhood on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The scenery has undergone a lot of changes, and several old favorites, including the Chock Full o' Nuts coffee shop where I picked up my morning does of caffeine before class, are now gone, while other old haunts, such as Amir's Falafel, which consisted of a walk-in-closet-sized room where Amir cooked up the most delicious falafel and brewed his high octane Turkish coffee, have expanded and taken on a more generic appearance. No visit home is complete without a walk up and down these familiar streets, filled with youthful memories of some of the best years of my life.
