To use the sewing machine.

Last night The Boy Magician learnt how to use the sewing machine and made a little cushion.

Tonight he wanted to make another one, so out came the machine again. Here he is trying out all of the different patterns on a scrap piece of fabric and trying to get the right feel for the tension.

Very windy day again today, but thankfully our leaning tree has stayed standing. The wind seems to have eased tonight, and I'm hoping it stays that way until tomorrow when the tree comes down for good.

Lots of rain this morning too, the banks of the Yarra River were broken at Southgate in the CBD.
