Life in Newburgh on Ythan

The wonder of blipfoto

At the end of April I posted a portrait of my great aunt Lily who served as a nurse in the Honley Auxillary Hospital in West Yorkshire during the First World War. This was soon picked up by an author writing, on behalf of the Honley Civic Society, a book about Honley during the Great War. Yesterday, I received a copy of the published book. Thanks to blipfoto, Lily has gone from complete obscurity to a degree of fame! She would have been amazed. What a wonderful age we do live in.
