Oooops:-

Well we can’t say that we have not been expecting it. Nevertheless it could have waited until we had a little less on our plate.

The problem is not re-building the bit of wall that has (finally) fallen over, it’s half the length of the wall that needs doing, and the hedge will have to be taken out to do it.

We were planning to replace the hedge and do the wall over the next few months, after sorting out what to replace the Berberis with - something more manageable (cut it four times already this year – and the thorns cause more trouble than firethorn) that establishes VERY quickly then stops growing would be ideal. (Any suggestions?)

Have just spent the last couple of hours chasing up local builders and landscapers etc, let alone the local planning department! Hey-ho!!!
