The Rathaus

Today was absolutely perfect. The weather was gorgeous - I spent the morning and afternoon relaxing while T finished up at the conference. We went out for a special dinner at a local Hamburger "pub" or ale house or something of that nature. The food was again outstanding.

We then had a lazy walk back to our apartment through the main center of Hamburg. Here is the Rathaus, the town hall, in all its glory. We plan to do the tour inside it soon. This town hall survived both WW1 and WW2 and retains most of its former glory from the previous Hanseatic League days.

The full moon was out too ... gracing the Elbe River with a silvery fairy light.
