What are you, a comedian??

Yes, as a matter of fact! Make that six talented comedians! After a day spent atop the Empire State Building (warning, if you elect to wear a dress, there is a very, very strong and relentless updraft on the top observation deck), then poring through the shelves of The Strand Bookstore, we headed across the Brooklyn Bridge and over to The Bell House to catch an interesting evening with these six comedy writers.

From left to right:
host, Liam McEneaney, Bryan Tucker (co-head writer at Saturday Night Live), Jessi Klein (head writer and executive producer of "Inside Amy Schumer,"), Chris Gethard (host of the live talk show "The Chris Gethard Show" at the UCB Theatre), Andy Blitz (writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien for nine years), and Andy Borowitz (writer for The New Yorker, New York Times bestselling author, and National Press Club award-winner)

I've been a longtime fan of the Borowitz Report, so when I learned of this event in Brooklyn, I jumped at the opportunity to attend. The evening began with several local stand-up comics, followed by this round-table of comedy writers. It was very entertaining, to say the least, to listen to this group share their experiences breaking into the field, their crazy diva encounters, their take on social media and being a writer, and lots more.

It was quite a full day with a fun and varied range of activities!
