Blue

I don't think I have ever seen the sea looking as amazing as it did today from the north west of Berneray. The horizon (slightly squint, I know, but I lack the wherewithal to fix it here) was a hard, dark blue line - as if a child had tried to make a watercolour more distinct by adding a black edge. This beach runs for miles down almost the entire west coast of the island; we are just arriving on its northern end here. You can see the hills of Harris in the distance.

We walked almost the entire length of the beach -and yes: we paddled. (Icy , since you don't ask ...)

It was a fantastic day.
