The Kelpies

We hadn't visited our friends Dave and Steve for more than two years, so it was a relief to see them again in Edinburgh after our brief flight from Gatwick. They've always had new and interesting places to show us, and the Kelpies sculptures were no exception. Towering 30 metres above The Helix park in Falkirk, they're a monument to horse powered heritage across central Scotland and were just breathtaking. The whole park was impressive for that matter, and quite wonderful to walk through - it's always restful visiting our friends. We'd originally skipped a visit or two to save money, but that ended up turning into a habit and we stopped visiting altogether. This visit certainly drew a line under that!
