Captain's Logbook

Entering Wales.

I always think this makes a very impressive entrance to Wales. Mrs W and I are taking the boys surfing for the week. It started raining in the morning and we realised it was Wimbledon week and Glastonbury, so with a heavy heart we set off for the lush green valleys of Wales. Despite our misgivings we were very pleasantly surprised, the sun came out and all was well.

We found our cottage, unpacked and set off to the pub. We are so remote here, there is one pub, one surf shop and a little store at the campsite down the road.

The pub was great, good food, it's own brewery, and most amusingly a lot of shaggy Welsh locals. Very chilled and laid back. People were enjoying the evening in the garden where a strong smell of aromatic smoke greeted us as we threaded our way through the jovial throng. Really looking forward to tomorrow.
