A Meandering Life...

St. Martin of Tours, Chelsfield.

This is the local Parish church. It is cut off from the bulk of its flock by fields and the mainline railway between London and Hastings. It of also cut off from the village of Chelsfield by a main road. Other than that it is a a typical village church.

It has about 1000 years of history whilst the tower you can see dates to the 13th century. For those interested there are 8 bells that ring out on Sundays and Monday evenings.

This picture was taken from the bridle path running beside the railway line. I've always thought that from this side the church looks like a Lego Wizard looking over a hedge...
