Life through the lens...

Here they come!

Best looked large.

At 8.30 am there weren't many people lining Scott Hall Road out of Leeds, by 11am the place was packed!
What a great atmosphere. So glad we were part of it all.
After the Caravan had passed, with the floats. The tension mounted as we waited for the riders.
Hope this photo captures the moment, as we saw them coming up the road in the distance.
The cheers you hear gradually getting louder as they approached.
And then in a flash they were gone, to start the race properly at Harewood House.

We watched the start on TV at our friends daughters's house, where we had bacon butties!
Then a quick dash back to their house to watch the rest of the race, ( again on TV) and the finish in Harrogate. ( Such a shame that Cavendish had the accident just before the line. Hope he will be OK but didn't look good)
We finished the day off with a wonderful BBQ. and watched the recording of the race.
Butter Tubbs was just unbelievable! The view of all the people lining the hill sides!

What a truly memorable day. One we will never forget.
The Yorkshire people were amazing!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this all possible.

Now off to watch the second day on TV.
