My Life With Luna

Kingfisher

Despite the rain when we left I took my granddaughter to Lackford Lakes this morning and I'm glad I did as the sun came out and it was really beautiful there.
It is a Suffolk Wildlife Trust site and has the River Lark running through and several lakes of varying sizes and lots of hides to get nice and close to the wildlife. We saw a wide variety of water birds and associated water insects too but our favourite of the day was this amazing bird. He swooped and caught several fish which I did manage to catch, albeit a bit blurred due to the speed he moved. I particularly liked this photograph of him showing the striking turquoise down his back.
