China Doll Dahlia

Our fancy dahlias that we carefully excavated last summer and lovingly stored all winter are once again making flowers.

These plants are now much loved companions that stay with us all summer and then hibernate during the winter.

It is amazing to know the roots and underground parts of the plant as intimately as the above ground stalks and flowers.

We’ve never had this sort of long term nurturing relationship with plants before.

Kathy’s long held dream of growing these dahlias has certainly brought a marvelous new perspective to us both.
