Now I know!

I did wonder what it was that was nibbling the salad leaves I have in pots on the patio – now I know.

These are very young sparrows and I watched as parents were feeding them, but were obviously getting fed up of having to do this. So the gang set upon the lettuce. Now I don’t mind as this was salad that was way past its best and I’ve taken most of the leaves from here anyway. But . . . do sparrows really eat lettuce!!
