The Mother's room was the place to party this morning, anyone who was anyone was there!

The Mother was sat with her mid-morning sherry, a generous portion supplied by the care home. Stella, her great friend from the village, was there. Also the District nurse was there changing The Mother's bandages.

I arrived with a computer table, tower, keyboard, mouse, printer, surge protector and, oh yes, I eventually realised I needed the mains cable from my handbag.

We were soon joined by two young men carrying a ripple mattress and a care assistant who helped The Mother off the bed and stripped the bedding. Then the cleaner arrived saying there were now too many chairs in the room. OK visitors can sit on The Mothers leather computer chair. At this point Stella thought she should leave!

Just as the mattress men said goodbye, The Mother's doctor arrived. She had the report on last week's ultrasound examination. The lovely Doctor Purdy would brighten any party but, as we anticipated, she had sombre news: last week's ultrasound had shown a growth on her uterus and Dr P was arranging and appt with the gynaecologist.

It was soon time for me to leave and The Mother to go to the dining room. She wasn't feeling great! I called back after tea and was so pleased that she had turned on her computer to write to her friend. she was looking the best she had in a few days.

Me? I went and did some gardening at the lodge. Some plants which I hoped would flourish in the damp part of the garden had gone berserk and outgrown the hostas. i have no idea what they are but, they will have to go! A bit of work followed be a nice evening discussing our new studio, the painters are in!
