A Fleeting Sunrise

As we endured a dull grey day with sporadic rain I could help but think of the folk in the top part of the North Island who have been experiencing horrific weather conditions over the last few days. They are enduring extremely wild weather with winds strong enough to snap concrete power poles. Most of the cell phone towers are damaged and not working so the emergency services have had to resort to satellite phones. There is flooding with communities cut off due to badly scoured and damaged roads.
I do not know of any Blippers living in the affected areas. But if they do pick up on my blip please believe we are thinking of you in the far north.
Meanwhile back in Marlborough I started our dog walk in the dark. I did not expect to see any sign of a sunrise so was pleasantly surprised when the sky right down near the eastern horizon turned to a somewhat watery red and pink. There was no clear sky to see just the dawn light reflected in the low lying clouds…..for a fleeting moment in time.
