In a Kelpie

Hiked around the Helix with the whole DWD crew in tow this afternoon. There were traffic queues snaking slowly around to full car parks and the place was hoaching with people enjoying the sunshine, picnicking and photographing the giant sculptures. Some were even swimming in the lagoon (No Swimming), flying kites (No Kite Flying), and parking on the grass (No Parking on the Grass).

We managed to escape the crowds though and wandered the woods for a good few miles without seeing many people, tracking down the other public art installations tucked away in there, before heading back past the fragrant sewage works and back into the crowds.

Sneaked this shot by sticking the camera through a gap in the Kelpie's skin. Think my detached arm was spotted by the wee dude in the dude t-shirt, who was waving at me, and by a couple of the others taking part in a guided tour inside the sculpture.
