Kiloran Bay

This is the magnificent Kiloran Bay on the northwest coast of Colonsay. Our cottage is on a raised beach above the bay, reached by a steep single track road. On the far side of the beach is the highest point on the island, a hill called Carnan Eoin.
It's been quite wet today, so we stayed in until noon, reading and relaxing. Realising that the rain wasn't going to stop, we decided to walk to Scalasaig for lunch. One disadvantage of arriving by bike was that we couldn't carry much food and provisions are scarce and expensive here (no bread to be had in the shop and hardly any fruit or veg). The Pantry Cafe does a mean toastie though, and we dried off a little while we ate.
Late in the afternoon, the weather front passed. We saw a hen harrier and heard a corncrake. The pedometer on my phone says that I've done over 21000 steps today. Whew!
