Les Arcs Day 1: Whiteout

<backblip>

Arrived just after lunch, got ourselves settled and had a snack before the other guests in the chalet arrived and we enjoyed our first dinner.

Anyone who has not been on a 'chalet board' ski holiday before, it works like this:

* You get up and someone has already been in and tidied up your mess from the night before and then cooks you breakfast.

* you go out and ski all day (eating lunch in an exorbitantly expensive mountain restaurant).

* you come back at about 4:00pm and someone has magically made your bed and cleaned the toilets and showers and made a cake and cut some fresh baguette.

* you laze about, read, shower, bathe etc until 7:30

* the chalet host cooks you a three course dinner with wine (which is often of variable quality - this week it was utterly horrible - but everything else was fine).

* repeat (except for their day off - when you go out for dinner).

Good eh?

This was the view from the chalet balcony. The view you can't see through the fog and cloud is of Mont Blanc ... will blip that later in the week!
