Allium sikkimense

A hurriedly snatched shot of a tiny species onion growing in a trough on the patio. Each flower is perhaps 5mm across .... you need a lot of this to make a show!

Allium sikkimense is native to Sikkim, Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, India and parts of China (Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Xizang, Yunnan). It grows in meadows and on the edges of forests at elevations of 2400–5000 m.
