On the lake

View from my roof deck in Seattle--so many people enjoying this hot weather on Lake Union in many different craft..(I can't stay awake long enough to catch the sunset- :-). this is early evening... but like the contrast to the island seascape...)
After a DDS appt to fix the tooth that broke the morning 3 weeks ago right before we drove that very long boat on our car to Canada (just added a bit to the stress :-)! )we spent the day trying to gather stuff for our upcoming trip to Alaska on a sailboat with 12 passengers-we fly to Petersburg on Wednesday for 11 days of exploring bays with glaciers ( while there are still glaciers!) humpback whales, bears catching salmon going upstream, and seabirds etc., with a naturalist on board . Really looking forward to being with camera, book and sketchbook and having excellent meals cooked by a gourmet cook! :-). Hard to fathom in this heat but we're packing sleeping bags, rain gear and long underwear!
