Intractable

Visited the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh today to see the Great Tapestry of Scotland, having already become acquainted with one of its multitude of panels during the final stages of its creation of several friends in Dunoon. It is an amazing achievement, though it was perhaps surprising for this stitchophobe to be more impressed by the sewing than by anything else. (Some of the narrative struck us as being questionable in its emphasis).

However, my blip today is of something I saw on the outside wall of the building, at the foot of the Royal Mile: a couple of verses by one of the great Scottish poets of the twentieth century, Norman MacCaig. It sums up how I feel about this land of ours, and I loved seeing it there.
