If you can't beat them...

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)

Not much in the camera as the day was spent helping Clickychick and "The Mate" getting their new project ready.

The evening light was just catching the Meadowsweet nicely so I took some shots. I chose this one as the Bumble Bee in the other I liked was blurred due to my shutter speed.

Also known as Mead Wort the whole plant is said to have a pleasant flavour. Due to its aromatic nature it was used in historic times to spread on floors giving rooms a more pleasant aroma. In the past it has been used to flavour wines, beers and vinegars. It also contains the chemicals originally used to make Asprin.
